Counterpart to the “A-11” 10616, these watches were manufactured under the same Army Air Corps specifications, under stock number R88-W-800. They featured the same black dials with the added benefit of luminous indexes for US Navy aviators who routinely flew night missions in the Pacific Theater. The US Navy and US Marine Corps also distributed these watches to officers and non-commissioned officers whose jobs required timekeeping abilities, such as shipboard personal, gunner's mates, and infantry leaders.
Although originals were historically painted with radioactive radium material, Timeworn has matched that same original color with multi-layered Swiss Super-LumiNova for the same original glow and dial color.
Timeworn’s US Navy FSSC-88-W-800 features an expertly replicated Keystone style nickel plated brass case, tapered crown, fire-blued hands, color-matched matte finish paint, hand traced dial, and 24-jewel hand-wound Miyota movement.
Like the originals, ours are water-resistant to 30 meters and have a hacking seconds feature, which allowed soldiers and airmen to synchronize their watches to the second.
Timeworn Watches are delivered exactly as they were issued in the field or aboard ship, down to the exact packaging. They feature:
