Calling all patchworkers who love a challenge and a project with real heart. Created in support of Cancerwise, this one-of-a-kind quilted jacket pack begins with a beautiful collection of vintage saris, inherited by a dear customer from her mother. Together, we’ve transformed these extraordinary textiles into something to be made, worn and treasured - a joyful project with a meaningful story behind it.

Each pack contains a carefully curated selection of sari fabrics, mostly silk, with colours, prints and textures that vary from pack to pack. No two are the same, so every finished jacket will be completely unique. Designed with more confident makers in mind, this is a project that invites you to slow down, experiment and enjoy the process of piecing together something truly individual.

The Hovea pattern itself includes a range of design options, making it a pattern you can return to again and again. This pack includes enough fabric to create either View A, the mid-length jacket worn by Sarah in the images, or View B, the cropped version. Both are finished with a clean collar band and optional waist ties for a more defined silhouette.  Self direction is necessary for this project, and the materials supplied can be supplemented with your own to for extra diversity.

Your pack includes:

• Approximately 3m of vintage sari fabric (around 14 fat quarters plus smaller pieces), each bundle unique
• Organic cotton lining
• InterfacingThread
• Bias binding (you may wish to add more depending on your chosen version)
• Cotton wadding
• Hovea Jacket pattern (Curve Sizes 14–34)

Sizing: The Hovea pattern includes the full size range (Curve Sizes 14–34). Each pack contains enough fabric for View A up to size 22, or View E up to size 34. The jacket is designed to be worn slightly oversized, the sample shown in the photos is a size 14, worn by Sarah who usually wears a size 10.

Ability: This is a more open-ended, creative make, best suited to intermediate to advanced sewers who are happy to experiment with patchwork placement and construction. The beauty of this project lies in its flexibility – there’s no single ‘right’ way to piece your jacket, so you can take your time and let the fabrics guide you.

Cancerwise Donation:  £100, from every kit will be donated to Cancerwise, a small Chichester-based charity doing incredible work supporting people affected by cancer. £20 of your kit cost is VAT, so net of the tax ALL PROCEEDS are donated to this fabulous cause.  We have just ten of these packs available, each one completely unique.
