The RoseCraft Blades Mill Creek Cotton Sampler in Black Sandalwood combines tradition with modern craftsmanship. This pattern dates back to at least the 1800's and was designed to slice into a bail of cotton, remove a sample and spread the sample for assessment using the the ricasso. It features a 3″ D2 cotton sampler blade with a brushed satin finish, heavy swedging, and a secure half stop. The handle is crafted from genuine Black Sandalwood, accented with brushed steel bolsters, steel liners, and nickel silver pins. Showcasing the new “Rose Bomb” shield, this one-bladed slip joint is a standout. Measuring 3.9″ closed, 6.9″ overall, and weighing just 85g, it’s a fresh take on the classic cotton sampler, re-imagined by Andy Armstrong.
