Generations of farmers have cultivated coffee across the country’s diverse landscapes, adapting to new techniques while honoring time-tested traditions. Most of this coffee is grown by smallholder producers whose farms are scattered throughout the mountainous regions where the altitude and climate create ideal growing conditions.

In the department of Huila, these producers have weathered decades of political instability and conflict. The signing of a peace agreement in 2016 marked a hopeful shift toward healing and rebuilding, and coffee has remained a cornerstone of resilience and community. This particular coffee comes from Coocentral, a nonprofit cooperative that supports over 3,000 growers from seven towns in central Huila. Coocentral ensures fair pricing, sustainable practices, and high-quality standards while helping preserve the integrity and future of Colombian coffee.
