Description:

A collection of string quartets by contemporary Italian composer Giovanni Sollima. Sollima, who studied cello with the virtuoso cellist Janigro, is active as a cellist and has also produced many works in his own unique style, using a variety of musical materials such as minimal music, rock, and jazz. This collection of string quartets is also improvisational and free, combining old-fashioned works by Bach and Dowland with modern elements.
