Standard and Reverse directions
Chisels are with either standard prong or reverse prong, see below the difference
When you look down at the hole from left to right
Standard = the hole slants up (front)
Reverse = the hole slants down (back)
With two kinds of direction you can punch hole on both sides of a leather.
Use Notice:
1. Due to the sharp and thin tip of the pricking irons please do not use excess force when hammering and please ensure your surface is softer. You could cover your board with something softer such as leather or cork to add protection and avoid damage.
2. We don't recommend punching more than 3mm thick of leather.
3. When you need to punch thicker than this please punch separately with obverse and reverse direction.
4. When not in use for a while we suggest to apply a little anti-rust oil
Size guide:
10 - 10 stitch per inch (2.7mm spacing) prong width = 1.6mm
9 - 9 stitch per inch (3.0mm spacing) prong width = 1.8mm
8 - 8 stitch per inch (3.38mm spacing) prong width = 2.2mm
7 - 7 stitch per inch (3.85mm spacing) prong width = 2.4mm
Single Prong S - Suitable for the 9 and 10
Single Prong M - Suitable for 7 and 8
