The TacMed™ K9 Handler Trauma Kit is a dual-purpose tactical medical kit built for law enforcement and military K9 teams. It carries the tools to treat life-threatening injuries to both the handler and the working dog in a single, field-ready package. The kit measures 11.5" W x 10.5" H x 4.5" D, weighs 3 lbs, and ships with a drop leg pouch for immediate access during tactical operations. SKU: K9HTK-B.
Most individual first-aid kits address the handler only. This kit carries components that serve both the handler and the working dog from the same pouch. Shared items cover hemorrhage control and airway management regardless of patient. K9-specific items — the tourniquet, muzzle, 8.0 ET tube with stylet, and 14GA decompression needles — address injury patterns unique to working dogs, including torsion and bloat, that require intervention before a veterinarian is reachable.
The 14GA needles support respiratory decompression in the field. The Flexi-Slip 10FR stylet and 10cc syringe extend the kit's airway and procedural capability beyond what a standard IFAK carries. The 8.0 ET tube with stylet is sized for a working dog airway, not a human airway — it is not a substitute for standard human airway adjuncts.
Every component ships inside the included drop leg pouch, arranged for rapid single-hand access under stress. The full contents list:
The K9 Handler Trauma Kit is a standalone package. It includes its own drop leg pouch, so no separate carrier is required. The kit is designed for attachment to standard tactical leg rigs and duty belts used by law enforcement and military K9 handlers.
Yes. The K9 Tourniquet included in this kit is also available as a standalone purchase. Contact us if you need assistance sourcing it individually.
No. Items such as the K9 tourniquet, muzzle, and 8.0 ET tube with stylet are sized and configured for working dog anatomy. The SOF® Tourniquet and OLAES® bandage are intended for human hemorrhage control. Using K9-specific airway items on a human patient is not appropriate.
The kit supports field management of hemorrhage, airway obstruction, respiratory decompression, torsion, and bloat in working dogs. The 14GA decompression needles address torsion and bloat specifically. These interventions are intended to stabilize the animal until veterinary care is available — not to replace it.
This variant (K9HTK-B) is a final-sale item with a July 2026 expiration date. All sales are final and returns cannot be accepted. If you need a non-expiring variant, contact us before ordering.
Yes. The SOF® Tourniquet and 4" OLAES® Modular Bandage are standard human hemorrhage control tools. The non-vented chest seal (2-pack) addresses penetrating chest trauma in the handler. The nitrile gloves (XL) support both self-treatment and treatment of the K9.
