Description:
Former Ezra Furman and the Harpoons frontman Ezra Furman has released a new album, Transangelic Exodus! The album was recorded at the studio of saxophonist/producer Tim Sandusky, with whom he has worked since 2011. The album is "not a concept album, but a novel, a collection of stories, or a combination of fiction and half-truths" about love, sexuality, and religion. The band's last album, "Perpetual Motion People," was released in 2015 and was a hit with its pop and danceable sound. Since then, they have been influenced by artists from a variety of genres, including Vampire Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, and Kanye West, and have sought to create songs with a stronger personality, such as the lead track "Driving Down To LA," which is a cross between doo-wop and digital. In the album cover photo, he represents his personal journey of coming out as gay.
